Here is my newest project. It’s great since I don’t have a tank of my own right now. It’s a big boy(300 gal), running 4 Chinese led’s on top. The sump is kinda small but there is room under the tank to put a remote refugium off to the side. Thinking about using a 10 or 20 gallon glass tank and drill an overflow into it. Needs more live rock and the live rock aquascaped. Thinking about doing an old school softy tank. He doesn’t have great lighting and softy’s should be easier to keep alive. Xenia, mushrooms, GSP, colt, those Tonga tree corals that spread like a Disease. After that maybe try some LPS like frog spawn hammer maybe an chalice or two. Just something that looks nice and doesn’t break the bank

Here is what we have to work with. I think it definitely needs more rock.

4X chicom black boxes is a bit lite for SPS but should be fine for softies maybe some LPS

The 20 gal sump will be a real problem if you have a power outage, it will overflow. My guess is that 50 0r 60 gal would be the minimum you would need.

The sump is a 50 gal 3 chamber Acrylic, I’ve checked it for powerout overflow and it held fine. I’m going to use a 20 gallon glass tank elevated higher than the sump as a refugium. It will be fed by a small pump coming out of the sump and overflow back into the third chamber.
Yeah the light isn’t very strong I’m gonna try to keep the corals in the top half of the display.

Update:
We’ve added the refugium and it’s working great. Added another light to help brighten things up. Added a dual reactor with carbon and GFO. A wave line wave puck and a few korillia’s for flow. Picked up an apex system. Apex ATO. Got some easy corals and some fish. Starting to come together nicely
