Hello everyone just wanted to make a post to show my progress and keep me working at it. With life being so crazy it is hard to stay on top of things sometimes.

Going to be going to one tank redsea peninsula 500

Tanking my other tanks down as I have no time to do so many water changes anymore.

So on to the build
Redsea 500
Lights moving my radions over and maybe adding my hydra to it for more light
Sump is going to be the standard one.
Going to add a filter roller on
And just all my stuff from my current tank

I am currently waiting for the light stand to be shipped over as I watched a video about 8020 and though it would look really cool

As for rock I think I am going to start all over again as I have bubble algae and I don't like it.

We will see how my new fox face takes to it

Happy new year!

Welcome to the peninsula club! How are you fitting the filter roller in the sump? I had take out my quad socks area and swapped it for bubble magnus roller filter. I have never looked back, love the roller filter

Thank you! I been wanting to be in this club for ever
That is my plan also. I just have to figure it how to take the socks out. Did you re do the plumbing also? Or sick with the plumbing it came with?

I actually have a waterbox 6025. I had to cut out the socks and baffle plates, then modify the drain line downstream of the drain valve to connect it to the filter roller. Hardest part was slowly scoring then cutting out the silicone

Yeah that is what I am worried about don't want to break the sump in the process. How do you like the filter roller?

An update on my progress.

Got the light mount stuff in. I went with 8020 and it turned out super cool! I used an old build I found on R2R and watched some YouTube videos.

Now I need to figure out how to make a canopy that matches the stand. Let me know if you guys have some ideas

Then on to plumbing and getting some water in it!

Nice work! I've been thinking of doing something similar for my tank. Which series is that?

I planned to do the same layout for my radions but I was going to add 4 of those inside 90 degree angle fasteners to bring two pieces out to the side, per side to have a place to mount high strength magnets to. Then counter sink some magnets or add a steel strip to 3/4" plywood so I could put them up for a floating canopy (or full canopy) yet still be able to remove the panels for full rimless access for maintenance and top down viewing.

It was really fun doing it to be honest. It is the 500 series. I would highly suggest it. Just need to figure out how to mount my light safely now.

That is a great idea with the magnets I just don't know if I would trust my ability to do that lol. I was thinking about making a canopy I can just lay on top and take down when I need to.

Been a long time since I updated this, so I thought I would add other tank to this as I got sidetracked.

I added a skimmer to the redsea. A reef octopus 150 skimmer, it is super nice. I have never had this brand before and love it. The feed mode allows for a 60 min feed which is great since this is still a very basic set up. It is also so powerful with the vario 2 pump.
The refugium is growing very nicely I might need to harvest it very soon. H80 going strong

Still don't have lights on the tank.. I am waiting for a power cord.

The waterbox 6025 is doing great also everything is starting to growing again. The perimeters have been getting better. I found out my dosing line was going underwater when I turned it into feed mode

Looking good man. Are those DIY blinders on your lights? What are they made out of?

My wife got them for me for my birthday they are the radion light shade. They are kinda awesome on the tank next to the wall. Highly recommend them. I don't have a par meter, but they don't seem to affect the spread on the light.

Update

Snails are killers of my sps. Lost my lady in pink and HW. So that is the bad news. Also, had to QT my fish in the red sea as they got ich so that tank is going fishless for 75 days.

Only lost one fish cause my lack of speed. I might have killed my marine beta when doing the transfer as he is a sneaky fellow. But I am not sure. As they are sneaky

Everything seems to be growing fine in the 6025

I started to make phyto: Nannochloropsis Oculata and pods .. just did my first batch and I have a some extra phyto. I got my culture stuff from
https://poseidonreefsystems.com/products/phytotank-complete-kit

Super nice kits! They were packaged super well and the kits came first then the phyto and pods in a insulated box with cooler packs.

Nannochloropsis Oculata: Bright green Nano is hardy and easy to grow. It can be refrigerated for up to 90 days and still effectively start a new culture. After 90 days, refrigerated Nano may not start a new culture, but it is still nutritious for coral and zooplankton for up to five months.

Don't have if anyone has an Instagram here but mine is would love to follow your guys builds. Also have some stickers if you want to trade?
