Reef-A-Palooza Victory Lap Time! Best ever...
Hi All,
Just wanted to publicly thank the organizers and volunteers (collectively known as SCMAS) of Reef-A-Palooza 2008.
I've been going to hobbyist trade show/frag swap/conference type events since 1996 and this had to have been the most pleasant, relaxing and "easiest" event ever.
Every step of the way there was a SCMAS volunteer right there to help unload the truck, help with set up, track down a tool or what not, watch the booth so I could grab a drink (or small break) even run and grab food from the outdoor food vendor.
The OC Fair/Convention Center is a top notch facility for an event of this kind. The food and drink availability is second to none, the buildings were clean and just the right temperature inside. Ingress and egress to load and unload was easy.
The event hotel, the AYRES Costa Mesa was fantastic. $99/night, free breakfast (real hot cooked food, not just cold doughnuts and stale coffee) and the hotel actually offers free shuttle service within 10 miles of the hotel to the guests. It was like having your own private driver, it was that good.
I would like to individually thank specific individuals but then I realized the list is just too long and after all events like this aren't about specific individuals... so CONGRATS SCMAS, CONGRATS Reef-A-Palooza!!
