Recently watched a video from Ryan at SR talking about some of the reef equipment coming from China (from CIPS show).

They talked about some Straton knock offs that looked really nice (and about twice as cheap)
Kassray T215
GQbullins iPro 3

Any have any experience with these? I saw some posts on R2R about the Kassrays, and it looks like one of the guy's units came with a defective LED. Also curious on how good the software/app are with these lights.

There was also a mention of Hydros controller knock off too, which I've been struggling to find online. I think its called the miofis ultra one pro, or something like that.

The straton knock off lights in particular are really tempting, they probably don't come with a warranty like the ATI would, but for half the cost you could buy two lol

Knockoffs for over 5 benjamins. Damn these lights better make me a sandwich every now and then.
Disposable, if your content with the notion of an equipment piece with an unknown life, they do work. As for the asthetics of the light, they look on par.

I personally avoid these products due to lack of technical support and future enhancements. Unless you’re a tinker and/or bored, it can be time consuming and frustrating trying to integrate these products into your ecosystem. As for the price, unless it’s 10-20% of the “premium” product, it’s not disposable anymore. Otherwise, I would just buy a used “premium” product for 25-33% (or even 50%) of list price. For example, I would rather pay $500-600 for a used Radion G6 vs these new offshore brands. My 2c

LOL. The dad jokes! :ROFLMAO:

Looking at the real brands, that light may be over $1.5k each, which is crazy when you have to light up a big tank. when you need 3 or 4 of these lights.
