i have a remora pro with a cheap rio2300 pump... great skimmer... there's a little mod for the noise... um... let me find it...

well i can't find it... lolz...


but they get a papper towel, fold it up and stuff it on top of the sprayer thing... there are pics and a DIY thread online but i can't find they...

anyways... i had one with a recirc mod with a small mesh modded sedra... that worked great... it went from the bubble less tower on the left to the bubble chamber to the right... worked great with a low flow powerhead... but i klukked that skimmer... i should've kept it...

great buy on that skimmer... it's a great one...

i have an urchin pro, which (to me) seems very quiet. but perhaps the hob remora has a slightly different design and has noise issues. i like my urchin, though i would like more foam production...i think it should have more!

I had it for almost 3yrs on my 36g reef. Make sure you have extra "o" rings because those things dry out and break quite often. A little loud but not horrible...

i figured how to stop the noise.. or lower it.. this is what i did.. i made a cardboard box and place my **** skimmer in.. and then place them in my acrylic box.... cost me about 20 dollars for acrylic if i bought it but i got it for free...anyways.. the noise is lowered for me.. hahah
