rinsing live rock

Quick question for those with experience rinsing and scrubbing algae off of live rock. Is it ok to use tap water from the hose to rinse the rock when scrubbing off unwanted algae or if not what is the preferred method? Thanks

Leave it in the dark with Saltwater. all the algae will die.

Tap water will kill everything living on it.

ud wanna rinse the rocks in saltwater perferably water thats come from ur tank,next time u do a waterchange just drain the old water into a tub then u would just scrub ur rocks in the bucket then in another bucket of ur tank water ud rinse the rocks then u can put them back in ur tank.If u use freshwater or even ro ud kill all the living organism on the rock, not good
