I added a small power head to my tank yesterday to deal with a dead spot. everything seemed happy. I woke up this morning to a completely cloudy tank. Couldn’t tell what happened then I realized my Sherman Rose had moved and got sucked into my vortech. I have it for years and it’s never been a problem. So bummed.

Did a big water change...started carbon and I already had Chemical Pure in. Should I do anything else.

Not a great pic but here it is...

That sucks. Just keep an eye on NO3, NO2, ammonia, alk, ph. Big water changes will pull out some of the toxin along with a lot of beneficial bacteria that can cause a huge swing in nutrients. Those big swings combined with the toxin can cause trouble. Just make sure all good parameters stay steady. The carbon should pull out most of the toxin but it would be good to switch it out in 48 hr with a fresh bag or cartridge. If your running a sock, filter pad or floss, that will trap most of the larger particles & I would exchange it or rinse it. Hope it helps & good luck.

Thanks guys. That is helpful. I was thinking I’d do another water change in two days. I’ll change out the carbon then too.

My skimmer is going nuts. Skimming super wet and I can’t adjust it any more.

That sucks. Beautiful nem. I think every nem owner at some point will experience this atleast once. It's like what they say about bikers. Everybody falls atleast once, it's just a matter of when.

Just a future note. When water movement changes more likely so will anemone.
