Royal Exclusiv Alpha Cone vs. ATB Cone

So I am currently looking into purchasing a larger, upper end skimmer for my 150g. I am very interested in the ATB Cone skimmers, specifically the 840 v1.5. I have also seen a lot of good things from the Royal-Exclusiv Alpha cone skimmers, probably the 200 or the 250.

What do you guys think and any reviews of the different skimmers?

Of course Alpha 250 or better yet Alpha 300.

Red Dragon pump with lower wattage
More bucks for your money

I dont know if I would put a 300 on my 150g! lol The red Dragon Pump does have the huge appeal. If I did go with the ATB I would most likely get the Airstar.

How does the Airstar compete with the red dragon?

Both pumps are great.

But the RD has lower wattage. So, it might save you some money on electricity in the long run.

If you have the extra $, go with BK SM250 or 250 Internal.

I will be using an ATB small w/ large PPW on a mini airstar on a 150G. Keep in mind replacement parts are easier to get for ATB than BK.

NO. The Sm250 is way better than any of the new Alpha Cones. The Alpha 250 is comparable to the SM200, according to Klaus on RC.

I don't think you can compare BK and ATB. They are 2 different class.

I have ATB Small before and it works great.

I got the BK MINI 180 and loves it. Built into perfection.

Check out this 3 days after I got it. No Breakin In necessary. This is in the cycling period. Imagine if the tank fully stocked ?

They are the same but Supermarine is required 8.5 inches water level and The Alpha cone skimmer is required 9.5-10" water level to perform efficiency.

Here is new Alpha Cone 250. The Alpha is build in the Ozone tubing so you can run Ozone thru this skimmer.
