Hey guys,

I am out of Salt, and dont have time due to work to hit up a store and mix my own saltwater. Anyone know of a place in Corona that has quality salt? I need to bring 2 tanks up in SG slowly so 1.30 would be nice.

I checked on Yelp and google nothing really sparked my attention.

If any of you locals have some for sale, I am more then happy to pay for the water.

TIA

1.30 is awfully high. Do you mean 1.030? More than likely you're not going to find a store that will sell saltwater mixed to 1.030. Just replenish the evaporated water with saltwater and that'll bring up the salinitly

+1...and depending on the water you get be sure to test for Alk/Ca/Mg so you don't spike levels.

Sorry 1.030 is what I was looking for, I have a 16G that is at 1.013SG and my main tank 150G is at 1.023. I had to pull water out of the main to setup the 16G and when I refilled I used RO accidently to refill. The drop in my main tank was from 1.026 and now 1.023, corals are ok fish are fine and its only been 24 hours.

The reason I wanted 1.030 is so I can do 1-2G changes ever few hours tonight to bring my SG back up within a 24 hour period, I may extend it to 48 hours. For my 16G I only have live sand, cheto/algae ball so chaninging the SG on that shouldnt be that bad, 5G change with salt over 3-4 hours tonight should be fine IMO.

I always check even when I mix it myself :). I carry 2 different types of test kits in my car just in case. Swap them out every week to make sure they are fresh :)

Up to you but I think the slower the better and so just refilling the evaporation using standard 1.025/1.026 water would be best. I think if you want 1.030 you're going to have to mix it yourself. Stores won't carry it because not enough people would buy it. Check with your LFS...they might always be willing to mix you a special batch for a special price.

+1 Most LFS probably keep their water in 1.024-5 range. Sometimes even lower if there aren't a lot of reefers near them. 1.023 isn't bad but raising it up 2-3 points in one day can be worse. I agree with everyone else. Top off with salt. You don't even have to get the saltwater today either if you have enough reserve in your sump to let evaporation happen for a day.

I do have "some" space in the sump to deal with evap. Ill take the slow route with evap salt replacements. I got worried that my main tank dropped a bit. Ill pickup some water from my LFS tomorrow or this weekend. Ill shutdown my skimmer also to help slow evap since I am bone dry of salt at the moment.

Thanks everyone!!!
