Weird, I thought I created a thread for my 75g, but I guess not. In any case, I took the advice of the forum and instead of buying a drop in for the 75g. I picked up an IM SR-80 I found on offerup. Picked it up on 2/7/2026. The 75g has been running since March 14th 2024. Was all Dry rock with Fiji pink live sand. Setup the Innovative Marine SR-80 the Minute I got it home. Previous owner had just drained water that morning. They also hooked me us with multiple bags of media and Rock from in the sump. This was perfect because I definitely needed to expand the bio diversity of the old tank.

Side by side after moving it upstairs.

Started by moving some water over to a couple totes and a 5g bucket. I used the 5g bucket to scrub all my rocks as I pulled them out. There was some GHA so this was a great time to remove it before going into the new tank. Split the rocks between the 2 totes once cleaned. Put a pump and heater in one of the totes for the Livestock. Caught all the fish and picked out all the inverts. Finished draining the old tank and moved it out of the way for the new one.

My brilliant idea to start this whole thing at 4pm was turning out to be a poor decision. Rinsed the sand and transferred the rock and water from one tote. Adding the water to the sand even thought I rinsed it a ton left the tank cloudy. It was now 10pm and no way could I finish the aquascape and add livestock. Thank god I setup the other tote as a holding tank. No picture of the cloudy as I was tired, but here is a picture the next morning. Lots of microbubbles due to having just enough water for the back pumps to run.

9am on 2/8/2026, Super Bowl Sunday, it was time to finish up. Get equipment, Aquascape, and livestock into the tank. Got it done around 1pm first shot of everything added.

My Tank Build

Wow, you insta-reef that! LOL. You did all that in a day?

That is a sweet setup!!! Major upgrade.

This is exactly what I was talking about, wait for someone exiting the hobby, and get a good deal with the tank and all the rocks too.

Yeah.... I got it home and just went to town. I had done a ton of research on the tank move. I didn't think the sand would take as long as it did to settle. Which I did prep for with the heater and pump tote for livestock.

The guy was actually setting up a 190g and had an absolutely stunning Waterbox 150. I used my rock from the 75g, but all the ceramic media bags he kept wet for me.

This was 100% the exact tank I was looking for. So crazy. Infact, it didn't even show up on offerup at my house in RSM, but did when I got to work in Irvine.

Looking nice and clean. That shallow look creates a nice lagoon/tide pool aura.
I agree. Even my wife is sold on it. It just makes the room pop!
