Well, it finally happened, that 12 year old $20 screw in bulb from Sunlight Supply finally bit the dust.

What screw in style bulb are people using for refugiums these days? Don't need anything fancy, just trying to grow some algae. I figure at this rate I'll have to buy a new one in 2037 anyway, so no need to invest much LOL.

I've only used it once a long time ago when they first came out. It was for a smaller tank and I hated the disco ball effect. It looked like I was watching those old 3D movies without the red/blue glasses. I might be dating myself lol. Honestly if I were you I'd just upgrade to a new fuge light. You dont need anything fancy since its for a fuge and there are a lot of cheap options out there. Plus it'll take up less space and look cleaner.

Wouldn’t any 10k screw in bulb work? I run a screw in plant grow light. Works great.

Thank you!

Have you used this one before? I looked at the exact same one prior but I was worried about the salt creep clogging the heat dissipation vents and causing a shortened life span of the bulb.

This is the other one I was looking at. Maybe I will just get both and see how it goes.
Amazon.com: SANSI 60W Equivalent LED Grow Light Bulb, BR20 12W Full Spectrum Plant Light Bulb E26 Base, 25,000 Hours Lifespan IP54 Waterproof Grow Light for Indoor Outdoor Plants : Patio, Lawn & Garden

Appreciate your help!

If you're getting salt creep/spray on your bulb then you have other issues.

There are a lot of cheap lower profile lights on Amazon that will put it farther away from the water if you're concerned about it getting wet.

I think it would work ok, but the spectrum on the one is sent in better. It stimulates much more vegetation growth. Kind of like the Kessil refuge lights.
