Hey Everyone,

So finally we managed to save enough money to get a nice frag tank for our club! We showed this baby off last meeting in person, but I had the time this weekend to build the light stand, get the light hung, and hook up some pumps and what not. We will have a booth at MAX this weekend (3/31 & 4/1), so come out and support our club by buying a frag or a t shirt!

First, the tank is a 48" x 24" x 10". It is 3/4" thick, with dual all in one overflow compartments. 1/2" bulkheads. Left side will have a maxi jet 1200 and the right will have a 600. The filter will be an Aqueon 50 HOB.

OMG, so using 1 1/2" PVC, although much more solid to hang the light, you couldn't use the PVC cutting tool so I had to use a hand saw. It seriously took forever... sometimes I wish I had power tools. Oh well got it done finally.

Let their be light! Thanks Aquatic Life!

SCRK wants to give a shout out to Aquatic Life. They have always been supportive of our club and it is much appreciated!! They were very generous to donate us a 24" 6 lamp T5HO fixture. This light is really nice, powder coated finish, dual fans, one cord, built in timer, nice sliding rails across the front and back to add LEDs, and to top it all off a really nice hanging kit that is extremely easy to install.

On to the pics-

The lamps from Right to Left are-- 420/460nm, Purple, 420/460nm, 10K, 420/460nm, & Purple

So I hung the light and set that up before I painted the light rack to make sure it was solid, which it is! The hanging kit gives us the ability to raise or lower the light as needed. We can always cut a couple more PVC sections to raise or lower the rack. Not to sure, it has never seen water or frags so for now we will just see how it goes.

Looks great Cody! Can't wait to see it this weekend.
Heck ya! I can already tell though that the black paint isn't gonna stay nice on the pipes once we break it down, throw it in a box, etc. I think I should have left it white. Oh well it will work.

wow. very nice stuff brotha and thumbs up for Aquatic Life
Hooked it up. Plus they are donating an LED modular strip for the front of the fixture. Its gonna POP!

What Frags will u guys be selling?
Um, we should have a nice assortment. Solitude (Last SCR TOTM) will have about 60 frags... he's got lots of designer SPS. Our club members will have the opportunity to sell some frags out of it so we should have plenty to go around.

will the socalifrags be sold out of scrk lol? :)

Whats at the socali booth? tshirts?
NO. I'm gonna put up a banner that says no hoodlums in our frag tank.

Anyone that is a paid SCRK member for 2012 is more than welcome to sell out of the tank however we will require a 10 dollar donation to the club. Please let me know ahead of time though as space may be limited.
