Hey Everyone,

The March meeting is schedule for next Sunday, March 18th @ 6pm. This month we are tying to step it up a little bit. Dan at Age of Aquariums is doing his best to find us a speaker, so more to come on that hopefully. Our Grand Prize in the raffle this month is a Aqua Illumination SOL Blue Module!

We would also like to announce that SCRK will have a booth at MAX on March 31/April 1, 2012. We could use a few volunteers to help set up the booth, frag tank, etc., as well as clean up and breakdown Sunday afternoon. Its a nice opportunity for our club to meet some new vendors and get some new members.

As usual we will have food and snacks (non-members are $5), and a member frag tank to buy, sell, or trade your corals (MUST be a member).

As always, please feel free to email any ideas, contacts, anything you think might better our club as we are all for it.

We will have a speaker from Quantum Marine Labs out of Utah. They have developed a new line of coral additives using nano technology and will be doing a presentation on what they have to offer.

The meeting is this Sunday at Age of Aquariums. Come one come all. You don't need to be a member to come out.

Info about the speaker.

The presentation will by Jerry Ohrn, president of Quantum Marine Labs. Quantum Marine labs has developed a new coral additive line based on Nano technology. Nano Technology is new chemistry, the elements are the same, but the structure and organization of the particle reaction is different than traditional chemistry. The talk will cover the Chemistry behind coral growth and Nano Technology and how Nano Technology can be applied to increase the health and growth of Livestock.


Jerry started his Marine Aquarium addiction in 1997 during a visit to Sea World while on a family vacation. In 2004, his young bride knew there was no hope, when a full blown SPS reef tank Dominated the living room of their small one bedroom apartment. During this time period he owned and operated a custom cabinet and design company, as well as multiple websites dedicated to the Aquarium trade and industry. In 2010, the demand for his home grown corals had out grown the over 1000 gallon system in their modest home. A failing Local Fish Store was then purchased, allowing him to expand. Coral sales have taken him to many parts of the country, introduced him to many different people and allowed him to develop some incredible friendships. When asked what his favorite part of the marine aquarium industry is, his quick response is, "The Friends you make". In 2011, the opportunity of bringing Nano Technology to the Marine Aquarium World presented itself. After seeing the effects of Nano Technology on coral growth, Jerry jumped at the chance and created the company Quantum Marine Labs to help pioneer the distribution of these products into the Aquarium Industry.
