I didn't know my dad had scuba diving equipment and years of experience. Do anybody know where in around LA can we go to see reefs and cool fish, maybe small sharks? Can we collect fish off our coast is it legal if we have fishing licenses?

You can only collect legal size sport fish which are too big for most tanks.. Some of the baitfish don't have size limits as well as the cuc.

Catalina island is a great place. So are most the channel islands. San diego has some cool ship wrecks.

Everything in our local waters are cold water species and wouldn't survive our tanks

La jolla cove here in SD has a lot of leopard sharks that you can touch. You swim through giant kelp forests that attract a lot of animals including a ton of seals. ONE MAJOR PROBLEM, GREAT WHITES ARE KNOW TO BE IN THE AREA! Enjoy!

Also, laguna has some nice spots off the cliffs.
