So we talked about this last meetup, and this is the official invite for everyone!! We are going to have a Socali Reefer Meetup and Gear Swap & Scratch and Dent Sale at Seaside Aquatics!!!

This is a special FREE event for locals and EVERYONE is invited!!!

What is it???

For those of you who have participated in the past with a Gear Swap, you already know, but for those who haven't, this is an opportunity for all of to "clear out the gear" I know we all tend to hoard. Got pumps you dont use anymore, bring em!! Chiller collecting dust!! Bring it!! Got a frag tank or skimmer you don't use anymore? Turn it into some cash!!

Basically anything you have that might be if use to another reefer, bring it!!
Feel free to post up what you have or are looking for on this thread!!
All sales are between individuals and are subject to whatever terms you work out amongst yourselves. Cash, Venmo, trade, whatever works for those involved..

Now ON TOP of that, Seaside has agreed to have some "Scratch and Dent" stuff available for sale as well. There are usually a few other super great deals that will be day of only. Super deals will be up to Seaside Aquatics and subject to availability.

For those of you who don't already know, Seaside is a drygood wholesaler with just about everything you can think of except Hydros.. (sorry Richard).. Seaside will be handling their own transactions. For the best deal from them, cash is king here people!!! I do know they can take Credit Cards if necessary.

Plan on coming by for the best used gear and the best deals on "Scratch and Dent" reefing gear.

We Will have a couple tables and some EZ-up tents for those who come early, but be prepared to showcase your gear yourself. We will also have a power cord or two so you can plug in anything that needs shown running.

This has always been a great free event in the past , and this one should be no exception. Looking forward to seeing you all there!!!

1. Bring your extra gear, sell it for extra cash!
2. Get epic deals at wholesaler!
3. Meetup with fellow Socali Reefer folks, talk reef, and enjoy hobby!

Saturday after the meeting yes. Meeting is the 12th or the 2nd Friday . This is the Sat after the meeting.

Guys, I connected with Richard and Ben, and the September 12 meetup at the brewery is going to be cancelled this month, so we will be meeting/socializing at this Swap Meet and Scratch/Dent Sale on the Sep. 13 (Sat) instead. We will pick up on the brewery meeting in the following months.

Looking forward to this event and anyone bringing food/drinks???

Just wanna shout out Jimmy for his help with this!.
I have been super busy at work, and I know Richard had RAP last weekend and also has a lot going on.
Definitely on for the 13th. The change to our usual 2nd Friday meetup was made so all of you making the long drive from the IE or other spots where the drive is a bit of a bear, wouldn't have to make the drive two days in a row. Or, worse yet have to choose which day you would come out.
Doing things this way seemed like the best option.
Hopefully we get to see all your smiling faces on Sat the 13th with a bunch of gear to swap/sell.
Ill see if i can get an idea from Tom what he might have in mind for super specials or whatever else he might have in mind.
In the meantime, post here what you might be looking for gear wise, or on the flip side if that, what you have that might be of interest to someone else.

Just a little update..

We are going to open this up a little earlier than previously stated.. We will be starting at 9am!! But we do have a hard out at 2pm.. Tom has family stuff to do, so he agreed to open up early for us.

There is going to be LOTS of Scratch and Dent/Closeouts etc.
Some examples of the items available from Seaside are:
Skimmers.. lots of brands and sizes
Big name circulation pumps... Hint.. probably starts with a T...
Accessories like frag racks, fish traps, isolation/anemone boxes
Tanks.. large to small
Full setups from as low as $50. Stand, tank, lights all included
AIO tanks
Dosing pumps. Slave pumps ..
This is just what I KNOW will be out and available.. there is also OTHER merch available, listed above is just the super sweet deal stuff . This is an opportunity to score some killer deals from a wholesaler not usually open to the public.. Make the most of it..
Basically a TON of stuff.

We will also have canopys with tables outside with power for all of you bringing Swap/Sale stuff of your own. There WILL be power so you can demonstrate functionality.
Pretty sure we will have some fans too because its probably gonna be warm.
Somebody needs to bring me a beer . (Subtle hint)

As I mentioned before cash is king, but i know Seaside can do just about any payment method necessary including CC and Apple pay etc.

Parking lot is pretty big, but additional parking is on the street in front.

Even if you dont need anything, we are using this event for our SoCali Reefers Meetup. I am hoping all of you who normally come to the monthly meet-ups at Brewheim will join us regardless. Also hoping to see people who haven't had the opportunity to hang with other reefers face to face regularly stop by to get a chance to say hello. And.. maybe come join us next meetup at Brewheim . Everyone is welcome regardless of if you want to get gear, experience level or whatever. Feel free to join the conversation, say hi, and become part of the group..

I’ve accumulated an inordinate quantity of Radium lamps which are slightly used but tested, measured and matched in groups of 3. I’ve been running my current set for over 3 years. I inspect and measure them regularly and they still don’t need to be replaced. These sets have been ran less than 3 months based on appearance and output. Is anyone interested @ $75/ set of 3? Or $40 each?

They are 250HQI. they really need an HQI ballast to run right. what ballast are you running? I might have some HQI ballast or plusright pulse start lamps.

I have a Hamilton fixture with T5s the bulbs are single ended screw in I would need the same for the fixture and I’m not sure what ballast they are just 2 big black metal boxes
