She gone!

Should I just smash this beauty and use it?

A 20 pound box of purple rocks in a box you can’t see is $120 dollars at seaside aquatics. You’ve got to be joking!! It’s over everyone. I’m keeping the rock!

Look forward to seeing it in a new shape or two in my new build! Thanks for voting everyone.
Sadly NO is winning.

So instead of smashing I’ll be attempting to chisel it to a shape I’m okay with.

Anyone with suggestions for splitting/breaking?

Mods feel free to move this thread to a different forum if needed. If that’s even possible. I just see others say it.

Awesome and Good luck! Unless you have access to a large tile saw, masonry chisel and hammer would be the best option to get the most precise pieces, but dropping it or wrapping it in a towel and a few sledge hammer smacks would be quicker.

what i would suggest if you do decide to crack it therefore to be able to use it for your purpose because the size will then be reasonable:

carefully chisel out the crack crevices to make it more natural look
use sand paper for rocks or against the cement floor
You will definitely need mortar cement because it s very difficult to achieve your liking with the cracked rocks!
Chisel is very difficult for success on a porous rock, i have tried it with experience.

Thank you!

Cracking the rock went well! Lost a little bit into rubble but still have the shape I wanted for a main rock which split my tank. Also found additional pukani from a local reefer.

Sand is almost dust free! I still keep messing with it.
