Let’s see some pics of your new stand skin :)
Pretty close to complete. 2 coats Killz primer amd magnets attached. I decided to recess the magnets. That didn't leave much grab for a wood screw so i also used some gorrila adhesive for a better hold. Fit is a little too tight and the magnets are loud, so still got some work to do. Overall all I'm glad it decide to just bang this out myself. It looks like it'll end up costing me about $150 all said and done, not bad.

I ended up with a lot of bryopsis on my bridge so I removed it to treat with peroxide. The tank instantly seemed so much brighter I've decided to leave it and rearrange some coral. I'll be able to add some sand back now that I can reach back there to siphon it. Still can't get that right hand gasket to seal on my modular marine overflow and its a major eye sore. I've replaced gaskets, added a gasket between tank and external box (this sealed the left one), supported pipes better so there was no leverage and still got leaks. Once I figure this out I'll be able to add my background back and the tank should be popping again. I redirected my tunze up a bit, fish swim back and ride the current across the back wall, pretty cool to watch.

Scraped my back wall, looks like my leak worked it's way out, plugged with salt creep, haha.
Next I plan to mount everything on plugs that are on the bottom pane to individual rocks, then I'll be adding sand back to the middle. Also plan to add a frosted or possibly gray background.

I took a quick top down video while letting some h202 go to work on leftover bryopsis patches. Reflection gets in the way but there some color there for sure. You get to hear my dog MayDay enjoying her afternoon nap as well :)
I recently swapped to all super actinic bulbs from blue+. So far I'm happy with the move. Not the most realistic look on their own but the compliment the radiums really well IMO.

What leds bars did you go with?
I went with some cheap all blue led bars on ebay, 470nm diodes. I just couldnt justify the price of 6' reebrites or even sb bars. I went with 4 x 80w ( 3') strips so I can run blues on both sides of my spectra. The design of the light looks like it will be easy enough to fab a connecting bracket to make 2x6' strips.
Here's a link:

It's also why I went all super actinic lamps on my t5s. I'm hoping it'll help bring out some of the other colors you see with uv diodes in other strips/deep blue radions during all blue hours.

Sorry I couldn’t salvage a deal with the Euroquatics. The last offer they made was right at the apex of the COVID terror and they wanted me to buy 1,000 units... which I could afford NP but really wasn’t interested in storing.

I appreciate that effort but you made the right call to pass it up, specially if they weren't letting you pick up yourself, their shipping was horrible. They straight burned me but at least it was for only $150 and I was able to dispute through paypal and get refunded after 2 months of waiting. They were shutting down and I'm sure devastated but it would have been nice to just get a response from them saying I wouldn't receive my lamps due to "x".

I'm looking forward to getting some blues on the tank and I think I'll be able to do it cleanly. Their brackets hold the light pretty far off so I'll be trying to make something that holds it closer to the fixture. Might even try to paint it with some BBQ/heat rated paint to match the dark grey spectra ;)

I actually have 4 spare lamps, 3 of which have problems. 2 of those the pins were damaged in shipping but I think I can fix them with a soldering iron and some epoxy the 3rd had about 12” of LEDs go out. Perhaps I use it for parts to get another set running.

That's a bummer but at least you have the ability to fix them. Most would have been shit outta luck. One day when all this COVID nonsense is mellowed I'd love to check out how they look on the tank. I think they'll probably be very similar to what I have on the way

I got my led bars in early. Took some time and mounted them up yesterday. It's very blue, not as deep as say an orphek but gets the job done. Had to dust off my orange shades ;) my 5 yr old is stoked, she loves wearing those things.

Some shots from that all blue fantasy land

Looks great Matt. Can I see close up pics of the LED bars and how they are mounted to your fixture?

Your WD looks amazing.
Thanks! It is one of my favorite pieces in the tank but this coral lense makes pictures come out unreal....like they don't really look like that lol. The colors are there but not with that much contrast even with shades on.

I used 2 x34" fixtures I ended up drilling them into the fixture even though I didnt really want to go that route. Once I get it cleaned up a bit I'll post a picture. It's a mess at the moment.
Almighty smite! Where the tank?
What's up dude! Tanks at my house in GG lol

Here's a quick picture. I used the brackets supplied but I plan to drill them out to get the bars closer to the fixture. I drilled 2 more holes in the center bracket and removed the end caps to connect the 2 fixtures. I was going to build my own brackets using existing screws on my spectea but then I'd have to pull the bars down to swap lamps/service the unit.

They are basically orphek/reef breeder bars, same body style just bare aluminum.
