Here is a quick video to show the shimmer the kessils are providing even with all t5s on. pretty nice and active. I pan over to the 75 for all the livestock awaiting transfer. Can't wait for this thing to clear up. Dry sand is the way to I usually rinse sand much better and don't have this issue.

yeah, but it should work i think?

the slits on the top where it locks in i guess. my top doesn't look like your top? i figured all of their in sump skimmers were the same just sized differently, but the tops are different apparently
Sounds good to me if you're down.

That's a bummer, I haven't noticed any bubbles so far.

yeah i'm down, i was gonna buy some frags from you anyway haha, but i want to run this fluconozole stuff and then add the stuff i have in qt first

he said i was either skimming too dry or there was algae in my tank and screwing up the skimmer.. and there's definitely some algae in the tank so maybe it's not usually an issue. other than that it's easily the best skimmer i've ever used. doesn't need a break in or whatever, skims a nice dark mess. part of me just wants to do a new skimmer because of boredom

The tank is pretty clear now. I gotta get back there and clean the dust off the walls but the coverage and color of the lights are pretty spot on for what I was hoping for

So the fish started acting strange again today. I actually can't find my watchman goby, I'm worried he swam to the top and went in my overflow. The teeth are pretty huge on there.

I checked ammonia and of course API has a questionable slight green tint to the ammonia. Not sure what to make of that, maybe I'll check my 75 and see if its the same. I really hate that kit. Nitrite is 0.

OGfrenchorn pointed me in the direct of stray voltage and I think that may have been part of the issue. As I was troubleshooting I realized the outlet on this wall (using existing for now, not dedicated) is not even grounded. When I checked to a nearby ground there was 33 volts in the tank. Everything is contributing to it so I don't think it is a leak of voltage just a sum of all the equipment together. Anyway I added a grounding probe and it seemed like the fish relaxed and started to actually explore the tank and not just pace the glass. The timing did line up with lights turning off, so it's possible it is that. I was almost wondering if it was a reflection issue in the tank because it was so persistent.

I guess I'll know tomorrow come lights on. Hopefully they are all alright. They did stop pacing to eat but there was some very odd behavior at some points. Sitting at the surface, ect. Sticking to the walls, the fang blenny was chilling where the wave was about an 1" sometimes letting his tail stick to the glass in air. Really weird stuff.

I need to get a par meter over here too. By my eyes, the t5 all on look nearly twice as bright as my 75 with 250w x 2 36" xho just a few feet away. I'm sure it's just a difference in lighting but it makes me wonder what the par is in there.

Well day 2 out of town and I got a call that nothing was on in the big tank. Breaker tripped apparently. I was able to walk my sister in law through the steps of resetting it. I had her unplugged my ATI but I really don’t think it is draw related.

I went with a GFCI breaker in place of outlets. Maybe that was a mistake or there is some type of power issue with one of the pieces of equipment

The power module and the Kessils alone are probably enough to pop a breaker. That’s a lot of power from one outlet.

It’s a 20 amp breaker so it should be good. I think it has more to do with something DC related that might be bleeding enough milliamperes from ground to hot on startup? I had an issue with radions tripping GFCI before.
The lights all on and full blast should be 7.5A if the heater was running at the same time that’d be about 10A. All the pumps are DC so I really don’t think they’d add up enough to put me over that 16A threshold

CBB in the background is cool.
He was really paying attention to it for a minute but so far he's good. Maybe he was able to see some pods or something I couldn't.

Polyps are out just as good as the 75g now. If it goes like that for a couple days I'll probably start swapping some stuff over.

I added the 3rd tunze 6105 fighting the other 3 pumps, so it's on the far upper corner of the viewable pane. I was able to crank the flow up all around once that was combating some of the opposing flow. I love the sand but I can already see it being a challenge.

I added a few fish to QT today:

Katherine fairy wrasse juvenile
Naoko fairy wrasse juvenile
Exquisite fairy wrasse juvenile
African Leopard wrasse juvenile
Lubbocks fairy wrasse juvenile
Twin spot goby

Other wrasse I'd like to add:
Eight line flasher wrasse male
Lineatus wrasse juvenile
rhomboid juvenile

I'm still thinking about adding a group of blue green chromis at some point later on.

I like the selection, you mostly keeping wrasses in here?

I really enjoy watching wrasse. I was going to do a larger group of anthias or chromis but decided to go this route for diversity. Also I figure if I have a shot keeping them all together it'd be best to add as much as possible at once and into a new environment before anyone claims turf. I may add a few halichoeres types later on, I feel like they hold their own well and dont get too crazy with one another.

They'll be joining my current fish:
Sailfin tang
Tomini tang
Powder brown tang
cleaner wrasse
pintail fairy wrasse
pair of clowns
3 sunset anthias
bangaii cardinal
ornate leopard wrasse
fang blenny
CBB
watchman goby (MIA maybe overflow)

and a purple tang I'll be picking up soon

that is a gorgeous fish! I'll have to read up on them a bit. I love melanurus wrasse too but usually end up losing CUC to them when they get bigger. That's the only thing that's got me hesitant on them
never kept one, but they're supposedly known to be a gentle giant and an exception for the largerish halichoeres

https://reefs.com/magazine/pretty-pink-plush-side-halichoeres/

H. melasmapomus "Earmuff Wrasse": Occasionally available, somewhat expensive. While they have been recorded up to 9" in length, I have never seen one over 6". However, there is certainly propensity for this one to get large. Mostly mild in temperament.
since it's larger it might enjoy some cuc though

tbh my halichoeres aren't bad at all on cuc, biocellatus and used to have chrysus. my copperband otoh.. she wrecks a snail if it tips over

Everyone woke up (still dont see the twin spot goby though) and seems to be playing nice so far. The only two that are paying attention to one another are the katherine's and exquisite. Not really diggin the way the naoko is twitching. Almost looks like he thinks about flashing but then scurries away, maybe a fluke twitch?
