Are you dosing carbon directly into tank? And do you adjust the dosing based on nitrate levels?
Yeah I'm dosing biofuel directly to the display in high flow. I'm dosing midday to avoid my ph dropping any further at night, where it's already a little low. When I removed my algae reactor I saw the nutrients starting to rise so I decided to give this a go I had on hand. So far my dosage seems to be holding it there so far. I plan to move up to 15ml daily this week to see if it starts to pull it down. I'd like nitrates a little lower but don't want to bottom out my phosphates.
Once the bryopsis is gone I'll be able to tell the biofuel's affect on my nutrients much better. So far not sure whats causing the po4 consumption.

Yup. One thing I've learned with the tough algae (my experience was with Green Turf Algae) is you can never be too aggressive with it. If it's showing signs of weakness, just take it over the edge with H2O2.

I don't even see any nuisance algae in your FTS. Haha. It's crazy how much encrusting you are getting on your bare bottom. That's the one thing I really like about BB. That corals can grow all over the bottom.

I heard that carbon dosing will reduce PO4 as well. That's fantastic that your PO4 is going down, you don't have to run any GFO.

Looking great, Matt! You know you're moving in the right direction when coralline is the dominant algae. That mystic sunset is really taking off. Nice!

Thanks! The coralline really is taking off now, specially considering I have two urchins in there knocking it back. I'm so lazy at scraping it I'm tempted to just place that mystic sunset on the back wall and let it go to town.

Unfortunately I lost a piece last night from the baller grow out. Caught it last night and covered the RTN in superglue but I believe it's gone this AM.

That sucks! If you want some aquilonastras (asterinas) to munch on the coralline, lmk, I have plenty to share. The mystic on the back wall would look pretty cool.

Quick little top down video. Came out pretty bad but I'm starting to get some color back. My WD has some pinks coming in now and my gigantea is really starting to color up.

I've been sticking with 15ml of BioFuel a day and feeding 1x. This has the tangs constantly grazing all over the rock including the shaded sides so my hydroids seem to be getting taken out in the process too. My CARX is pretty dialed so hopefully in a few months this thing will be looking a lot better.

Looks like it’s made a real turn around, definitely and inspiration. That gig the same color as the one your listed for sale?

Such a stunner.

Thanks guys.

The smaller neon one is the one for sale. It's crazy bright for sure. I just prefer the larger one's coloration.

8hr outage is no joke. I'd be scrambling too! I hope your animals survive the struggle.

Damn! At least you're home to manage it. Just keep flow going and manage temp and you'll be fine. Good luck, Matt! Keep us posted and let us know if you need anything? If I were closer and would bring over my generator.

Appreciate it guys. The vans have 7000w generators. I’m just running the return and wave pumps. Went down the street, looks like they’re gonna go into OT.

so far everything looks alright. Checking temp with a temp gun and looks good so far.
