did you end up losing your shazam colony? that thing was maybe the most impressive colony i've seen in person
about 90% of it is in my calcium reactor. That piece I referred to as Kablowee above is the surviving portion of the wannabe shazam piece. Maybe it'll live since I gave it a goofy name :) I believe I sold a couple frags so hopefully this isn't the lone survivor of it

I started to wonder how long it took me to grow that kablowee piece out. Looks like I got it 1/2018 back in my 66g SCA. I've had it longer than I thought Post #70

I believe that red polyps on purple base is the large red colony I think you may have gotten a frag off? Not sure, thought it looked like a knock off cookie monster

yeah i ended up with two pieces of it. it has been a sloooooooow grower for me, but i figured once your tank was doing great i'd throw one of the frags back your way if you wanted

looks like just a blues pic of it, but it recently threw some branches up so hopefully it’ll get going. The colony shape you had was so nice too, the super tightly clustered baby blue granny, hard to beat that. I glued this in sideways and idk if that was the play lol

yeah I have the purple red guy too. He was funny he encrusted fast but then kinda stalled out. I was going to move him recently but wasn’t sure I could do it without damaging him

the filter makes it a bit more vibrant than it really looks, the encrusting is like pale and splotchy, kinda weird, seems unhappy at least unfortunately. Maybe I’ll break off that three branch cluster and try it elsewhere

Nice you got them both! Thats awesome. Yeah the reddish one encrusted the size of my palm then started shooting up nubs and turned into a little colony real quick due to that.

Hold tight while I get my shit together Kablowee. All blue orange filter, so it's exaggerated but the red polyps are making a return. It's also encrusting.

Tropic Thunder Monitpora - Kinda glad this didn't sell when I posted it a while back. Should be a nice carpet now that I removed the sand

So purdy but I wish they'd just die, or not be on the main structure. Purple Death Polythoas on a BBG/Tropic Thunder backround

TGC Creamsicle new growth branch looks healthy

Unknown piece coming back from the dead. I've moved it up so it'll be interesting to see what it becomes. This is another Tong's frag special

PC Rainbow holding coloration and polyp extension. All blue thru orange

Silly Strings got color, just need to get that PE back

Looking forward to seeing this BC Aquaticman as a colony. Looks happy and gaining color

BRS had trigger systems sumps 25% off. I ordered their 44 Triton and plan to replace my AA hybrid eventually so I can have an easy to maintain refugium. I feel if I can offset my nightly ph lows with good macro growth I'll have a much healthier system going forward. I'll also place my effluent into the fuge to help remove co2 from my CARX and hopefully increase macro growth.

I've been going crazy killing off vermitid snails a few minutes after I feed the fish. They toss out their webs and I can spot them. I'm using some detailing picks to go in the mouth and break apart the skeleton until I pull the worm out. I had to frag up my Vivid's Orange Crush tenuis and Valkarie's Moons to salvage pieces due to RTN. When I pull the colonies off the rocks they both had sizable vermitid snails near or under the base. I feel like maybe my dip in nutrients weakened those pieces enough for those to due them in. I've noticed some near all my stressed acros as well. My ICP came back clean of Tin and all other heavy metals so I'm pretty confident that's what's going on.

All new additions look very happy so far as well as the freshly frag VM and Orange Crush pieces.

Looking good! I did the same thing with my effluent, not sure if it helped or not, but I never had an issue growing macro. In fact, I had to reduce the photo period because it was growing too fast. I also think the daily addition of iron, manganese, iodide, etc helped as well. I think you'll really like the Triton sump, especially with it's simple layout, kinda wished other manufacturers would keep sump designs simple. It's like they don't actually use them to see how they work in real world applications? I'm glad your Kablowee is holding on, that piece is super cool.

Yeah I'm looking forward to getting it set up. I'm still on my dailies and now that my ICP came back clean I've got my Moonshiner elements coming my way for corrections. I've ran my skimmer intake to a line out my window near by for now. Hopefully that helps keep up the ph, looks like it worked last night my low was 7.86 which is great for me. I was seeing 7.66 at times.

Unfortunately my family lost our girl MayDay last night. She lived up to her name and was a complete knucklehead in a very lovable way. Endless patients with our kids and a great protector. Not 100% sure what happened but I was cutting up some tri-tip, heard a snort and turned to her. She was on her side with he legs locked straight out. We attempted CPR for about 5-10 minutes but I believe she had some type of catastrophic heart failure with how quickly it all happened. 100% normal just moments before grilling and chillin with me. RIP MayDay, ya giant sweetheart. Problem with the muscle breeds, you just don't get enough time with them. Only 8 years old.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your dog, we just lost our little one of almost 17 years last month, so I know the feeling.

Thanks guys, it was a rough night for sure. The positive is she went out suddenly and didn't suffer much in the moment.
