Nice! Maybe put together an 8020 rack to hang everything from?
That’s what I’m thinking. Pull them apart and use those current hangers as mounting points for 80/20. Basically repurpose everything I used for hanging those Lumenmax elites. Should be pretty easy. I do feel like I’ll need a mogul extension to get the bulb element center in the reflector for a 250w lamp. They are maxed out inward and still 2” short of center.

You really scored on those reflectors. It seems like it is exactly what you wanted.

I think they sell a mogul base extender (on Amazon) that you can probably help you extend it out a few inches.

I saw that. I'm going to check out homedepot as I remember seeing them there too. If not, then I'll get them on amazon.

I can't wait. Just need these mogul bases to show up. Minus my double stacked bracing I've got 42" side to side on the tank. These measure 40". Should be pretty perfect! Front to back is gonna make the biggest difference though. Only needs to spread out 8" in either direction for full coverage. Things should fill in nice and full with time.

A few pieces from yesterday under 14k and quantapro OG Pops. I have some very strange high flow resistant cyano going on. I'm going to clean my waver makers, maybe my flow has really just slowed and I haven't noticed.

WD finally sending out a decent amount of nubs/growth

BC aquaticman front edge of my rock work so I'm looking forward to how it progresses with more direct lighting.

BC Hyperberry is starting to fan out a bit more. Crazy amount of cyano all over my tonga structure.

TGC Creamsicle starting to grow at a decent clip. RR Blue Flame top left settling in

Golden Rod making a full recovery.

Minus9's Sukarnoi settling in. This one was a bit light deprived but was still growing at a decent pace. Should fill in real nice now

Cherry Bomb - it's growing pretty well now along with Sexy Corals Orange Passion

Looking good! Might have to upgrade to dueling Tunze stream 3's?
Maybe, my only problem would be figuring out how to mount them. I had one on my 180 and it cranked flow down the back wall. I tried it with the elbow fitting and it knocked the output in what seemed like half. Just not sure they'd work well.

As much as I hate votechs wetside lifespan, i do miss just being able to swap that out with a spare and have an instantly clean pump with no down time. 2 mp60s would be overkill but I've been tempted. Or maybe a set of gyre 350?

A pair of 350's would move some water. Yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with vortechs. I really like the wider flow with the Neat Aquatics nem guard on them, but the poor track record of rusty magnets keeps me on my toes. I think Tunze needs to redesign some pumps. Their build quality is second to none.

Great thread man, I am learning about the MH life lol. I got into reefing in 2015, so I was mostly introduced into T5 and LEDs.

That Speciosa looks like SBB euphoria

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I googled it, looks like a nice piece! I really like speciosa. I think that SBB piece and UC Flaming Sunrise all look pretty similar to this one. I feel like BK Chem was a head of the game on speciosa and I think he had the same piece a while before both those vendors.

To me what puts a speciosa above a nice tenuis is the colors are very true under full spectrum. I dipped this one in bayers outdoors and it still had those tips and base color under straight daylight. Same goes for the one I lost. I really wish that one made it. It was a nice turquoise base color and yellow tips polyps. The down side is they seem super sensitive.

I started around 2011 so t5 and LED were already pretty dominant. I've gone back and forth between LED, T5 and MH several times. Lots of money wasted. Nothing beats MH with LED supplementation in my experience, it's the best of both worlds.

If you go with MH stock up on bulbs and a few back up ballasts for your setup because they are going away, unfortunately. It sucks to do with the initial purchase but if you figure how many lamps you can buy for a single g6 xr30, it ain't THAT bad :)
