Hey thanks Matt, there is definitely a lot of detritus in the tanks. Their all just hiding in between all the frag tiles. haha...but yea, I try to siphon as much out when I do my wc every week. Its a pain in the shroom tank because I literally have to remove all the shroom into another container, siphon, and then put them back. I tried to siphon without taking them out but sometimes the siphon tube would get close and in goes the shroom. not fun trying to pull out a shroom in trouble. haha

Nice tanks everyone! Here's a couple of mines. :)

high flow acro tank

low flow mushroom tank
Amazing tanks. I would love to see them in person when it is safe.

I can't wait to see that acro tank grow out. I have so many questions LOL.

What is high flow to you? Just curious. I have two octo 2's, and an MP10 QD on my 50. I peak at about 120x turnover, not all day, but at the peak. I have sand though.

Hey thanks! your more than welcome to come visit when these crazy times passes by...:)

For me, I don't worry about turnover rate. I just make sure I have enough flow that no detritus will settle on coral flesh especially on the bases of the acros. Easier to do when they are frags. haha I have 4 mp40s running a mix of reef crest and nutrient transport at the moment. They are running only about 30-40% but as acros grow I will probably need to tune up and maybe reposition or add more to the back wall. For now, 2 on each side seem to work for me.
On my low flow tank. Everyday, I have to blow off detritus on a few of my corals when I feed the tank. I can't really tune up the flow or my mushrooms will detach and fly every where. lol :p

Thank you! I would enjoy that.

Most people think my flow numbers are crazy but my goal is the same. I like to alternate between two different flow patterns just to be sure nothing can settle. It's always worked the best for me. Having a large volume of water moving through the rocks seems to be a key of success for my tanks.

I perked up at the high flow description of your tank. It's such a wide definition. That acro system is going to be amazing when it all grows in. Excited to watch it.
