A friend of mine is a professional welder and I'd like him to weld up at stand for my 6x2x2. That being said he hasnt welded an aquarium stand before so I'm looking for a diagram/plan/outline as I dont know the strengths of metal and welds.

Any help is appreciated.

I use 1.5" 13g aka .090 gauge mild steel or 2x2 galvanized for all of my stands. For the top and bottom , I cut 8 total pieces of tubing with 45 degree cuts to close the ends on the stand. I'd do 6 legs for that size tank and add leveling legs if leveling is an issue
