Here are some of the coral I am considering cutting up. I won’t be in the contest.

If I do it, I’ll need help with distribution.

This is one of the battle corals I’m trying to get a name for 2 different colonies different lighting

If it’s a smaller contest I can cut the Oregon tort or WD org SC orange passion (didn’t make it in the photo)

I could do the GC ultimate eflo or for possibly the ASD rainbow milli.

I vote for whichever one will look the best when brown....or white.
Actually, none of those corals go brown very easy.... white is easy to accomplish!

oregon tort is probably a bad choice as it is a notorious slow grower. That first BC however grows pretty quick and has a very very unique growth structure. The 2nd BC is also a rapid grower and has a unique structure and purple, blue and red but can go green on you.

I’ll have to charge a little bit more to cut up the ASD or SC. They are both good growers.

My vote is for either BC piece

I am interested. I have not done a grow out before. I am open to any of the corals you suggested.

I wanted to keep it really cheep but it’s up to you guys.

Probably $35 per ASD or SC + $15 for the pot =$50

for the faster growers it wold be $10 +15 = $25

also, I’ll find a link for rulers, get your own dang Matching ruler.

The Oregon would probably have to be a 1 year contest because it gets off to such a slow start.

Of course if you guys want to go bawler, I have a RRU rainbow blossom I could cut up too :D

Count me in. I’m open to any of them.

Well, that rainbow blossom sells for about $500 for a 3/4”. And you can’t find it

I’m thinking I will do 2 distinct contests.

One will be straight up linear growth buy in will be $25-$50 prize will be $15X number of entrants

other will be straight out color up, winner voted by contestants. Each get 1 vote and cant vote for their own coral. If needed, I’ll be the tie breaker. buy in $300, prize will be $100X number of entrants. Min 3 entries, max of probably 6 or 5

If we get a butload of entries, and can still mke first prize much better than the buy in, we can have A 2nd place prize.

and if you kill your coral, you win a piece of rubble rock glued to a plug.

I’ll probably just copy a bunch of the rule boilerplate from the other contest.

This is my thinking

I don’t have that much of the rainbow blossom. maybe enough for 8 frags and these won’t be nubs like you get for $500-700. They will be probably a full 1” or very close to it.

Mine started from a nub of a nub.
