Well for those who don't know me my name is Steve and I just upgraded from a 90g to a 150g. I've been very busy with life and haven't had time to post pictures or start a thread. This will be slow as I get lazy uploading pictures.

So I got the tank from Cadlights and it was very nice to be able to see my tank being built as it went along. I think even Eddie got tired of me walking in every day but he's such a nice guy he was always positive. Here's a shot of the tank in progress

The tank is 5x2x2 peninsula style. I'm sure starfire is clearer but I can't miss what I never had. The only way someone can even tell is if you look at two tanks together or look at the side of the glass. So I really didn't want to pay more for something I didn't really care about.

Yeah come on Steve! You need to post more than one picture! You should know better than that, lol. Very nice though. It must have been exciting stopping by and seeing you tank take shape huh?

Nice! Rimless right? Or did it get eurobraced after?
its eurobraced with the slight recess to prevent water spills. pics are coming but the tank is so tall now, the eurobracing comes in handy so i can put things down without having to go down the step ladder.

yea i know thats why I the tank has been up 2 weeks without a thread. they-re coming. it was nice to see my tank but honestly a little stressful. just because I love a good steak doesnt mean i want to see a cow get chopped up.

I wanted to go with a steel stand but honestly i didnt have time for someone to build me one. I wanted this new tank set up so that i can just transfer everything over and have the least amount of stress on the corals. here is the stand in its final place but definitely not finished. I can skin it in its place. I am going to use thick recycled glass panels but i need to find what i am looking for first.

Sketch on the second floor. U think its strong enough? I've seen people have to add braces to their flooring when they had basements or another level underneath.

I had an inspector looking at the blueprints so I talked to him about it. He was real helpful in showing me how to read it and assured me there was nothing to worry about. With him and my contractor uncle laughing at me when he saw the blueprints, it was enough for me.

Well, sounds good. I think that the area around the stairs is built stronger than other areas. You prob have a wall or some kind of support right underneeth it also.

thank! so to continue. my old sump was 48 inches long and the new sump closet is only 45 inches long. so I wouldn't be able to use the same sump and I did not want to put the sump under the DT adding more weight. So I ordered a custom tank from Fujimoto aquariums so that I can turn into a sump myself. I ordered it 40x20x20. it would not be able to fit as the closet has a lip that makes the entrance 36" so the tank would have to go in standing up and drop down. With the tank dims of 40x20x20 the diagonal length would be 44" which would fit perfectly in the 45" closet. Well fujimoto really messed that up and built the tank 41x20x21. adding two inches and making the length 46" which would be too long to drop in the closet.

this really stressed me out and the only way to get the tank in was to cut the wall out as you can see in the picture. I wanted the tank a foot off the ground so that I can have room to drain from the sump and easier to view.
