Some type of conduit clamp across the back wall. Keep the return line and manifold valves low so they are directly off the sump wall. Secure and clean

Layout
Drains up flow to
X3 socks (media cups)
Frag section! Black tall dividers with adjustable water height plates
Skimmer section with dosing ports (I like my effluent from my CARX here to help bring up ph/gas off co2) adjustable plate for water height and heater mounts
Bubble baffle to Return section

Also if a long sump a built in ato a few inches wide x length of the sump

Sounds legit
So in a few weeks I’m planning a sump swap on my 150. I’m not feeling the glass sump that I’m currently using. Well I came across a new trigger triton 44 that had a cracked bottom. Well I had the acrylic and fixed it. The triton44 is a little smaller then my current sump but I’m looking to get the calcium reactor out of the water. The triton44 has 3 1” inlets with a bubble trap, then goes into a very large refuge (23”X15.5”) with an adjustable grate plate, then drops into a skimmer section (11.5”X15.5”) that has another bubble trap with an adjustable section plate that goes from 9” to 7” depth, then the return section (6”X15.5”). There’s a built in probe holder in the skimmer section and dosing lines in the return section. But I’m adding a 1/4” bulkhead in the beginning of the refuge. This is for the effluent of the cal reactor. I’m having it drop into the refute hopping that the cheato will consume the co2 and then have the skimmer scrub the rest of the co2 out. I’m also planning to add a frag rack in the refuge and adding an mp10 for flow for the frags. I also made an adjustable float valve holder that also has float switch’s

I ordered 2 new heaters and will be making a heater rack.
I’m just trying to get ideas on finishing touches while I can add them before I install the new sump

That neon sump distracts from the display.
All that is needed for me is Sock/Skimmer, fuge, return. Very low tech. Everything easily accessible and removable. I want to just reach in a pull out whatever it is without first having to remove something else.
Adding a built in ATO reservoir, the sump it would have to be massive to legitimize the addition of one. The display would have to be at least four foot long. Anything that wouldn’t last at least a week(7days)would be worthless. I say a week because vacation is usually that long.

My next ATO will be separated from the sump so I can bring it outside for a proper cleaning.
Adjustable baffles for the skimmer would be pretty cool.
A spot under the tank for a five gallon jug to just be pulled out and another put in is perfect.
Adjustable baffles not needed when skimmers have their own adjustments. Stop swapping out skimmer after skimmer searching for the next best thing. Any skimmers rated for similar size tanks should have near enough water levels that the built in adjustment can handle.

My sump is really tall holds a ton of water no skimmer can be in it without a stand that's why adjustable baffles would be cool. Nothing wrong with peps upgrading skimmers :)
The ATO as a jug not bad but I rather have an acrylic box you can wipe down. Also prefer no light penetration with a sealed lid.

100% disagree with this. In my experience skimmer recommended levels are complete trash and to be ignored. I've needed to add a stand to most skimmers to get them close to 6-7" of water. A adjustable gate is such a simple addition and completely worth it for me.

Good point on being able to clean the ATO @CoralNerd didnt think of that.

@Emac909 I was setting up my current sump for a frag tank it was similar to what you described in flow. The chamber with the effluent had super elevated alk levels, so something to consider for the frag portion. If possible I'd put it in a section before the effluent.

If it fits why not !
You don’t want to come home and new floor it’s damage because water leaking from a seal or fitting of a reactor !
You never know
Yea I thought of this too. So I made a drip tray that goes under the reactor and has a leak detector in the tray. If the apex detects a leak on that sensor it will turn off the feed pump and cal reactor.
