I would think so, I'm not a fan of closing off the tank at all. Too many issues, temp will be tough also. If you're worried about jumpers, make a net lid out of 1/4" netting and a screen kit from HD...
more like im tired of almost getting stung by my lionfish during feeding, and the gallon of water the predator fish spill when chasing live food... although prey fish have jumped out (only to be thrown back in... to gaping mouths...muhahaha)
