Are you trying to do the swap soon?

When I upgraded from a 20 to a 60 I cured my rock for the upgrade in a tub for 3 months. I used all the rock from my 20 gallon when I swapped out the tank. My advice is make more water than you anticipate using and use all your old water. I kept all my livestock in tubs with heaters and power heads.

You’ll have to have a bin to put in the fish with some air stones. But a box of bags and bag the corals. Rocks can sit in a bin, use new sand and water

I would keep some sand to help seed the new sand, just rinse with the old tank water until clear and you're good to go. I've done this plenty of times without issue. As long as your sand bed isn't too deep and fill with crap, you can rinse and reuse. You don't need much to seed new sand, so a little goes a long way.

What is the size difference?

The difference between a 20g to a 300g and a 20g to a 30g is kinda huge. I've transferred tanks a few hundred times, it's not hard.

In addition to what Jose said I would also recommend using Prime or Amquel for the first few days/week as a preventative. Start early in the day, it will take longer than you think.

If you need to borrow any supplies for the day I have extras of most things. That way you don't have to buy them just for one day. I am in Long Beach near the 405/605/22.

You should hire professional. Catching fish and such needs skill not easy as it might look and to prevent injuries, which could take hours of your time.

Any reason for taking 3 to 4 days to do a transfer? Me personally I would get it all done in one day. Its a lot of work and a long day but I wouldn't want to drag it out over days. What corals do you have? for fish as long as you have a heater and a good airstone you should be fine. I would maybe add a small power head as well for some water movement.

Here is how I have done tank transfers. I keep the old sand and also the rock. I wash all the sand in a bucket with a garden hose until water is running clear. I do it in small batches. Make sure your old rock stays in water as well so it does not dry out and die. If your going to use new rock, stuff as much of the old rock in your sump as possibly to keep the tank from getting a cycling again. Its a project and from my experience doing it a few times. Start early as there is a good chance your going to be working on it well into the late night.
