Has anyone else noticed that the 5ml line on that Aquarium Pharmaceuticals/API test vials doesnt match up with a measeured 5ml w/ a syringe?? Do they want us to use that line, and pretend its 5ml? or are the lines placed in the wrong spot, making my tests inacurate >< Ive got about 5 tubes, all at different times, and they all have the line in the same spot, so it couldnt be a bad batch deal.. any input?

Okay i just gave it a try and I only get 4.4ml at the line
I would guess that the test kit would be calibrated for the line on the tube, maybe it's a compensation for the drop size

I go by what the instructions say. I did notice the same thing but when I use the API to test I follow the instructions and have notice its almost as accurate as the Salifert test kit. The Salifert test kit is more reliable but its really close. So what im trying to say is just go by what Api and its vial line says.

i've tried with a couple syringes, and like you said, its very close, but i figured when your dealing w/ that little amount of water, it'd mess with your results substantially : ) I figured to just go w/ the line on the vial, like you all confirmed, thanks!

I also use API test kit.
One thing to remember in Chemistry is that when you fill the water up in that test tube and measure at the line, the bottom of the curve of the water surface is where you want on the line, somebody use the top of that water surface, which is not the right amount if you're concern about accuracy of the water amount.
