hey fellow reefers,

I was told by a 40 year experienced reefer that a thick substrate of 4 or more inches thick will crash indefinitely! I told him that most of the reefers on this forum have thick substrate, and they all look great! He said that it goes good for awhile then C.R.A.S.H.

So here's my question, has any reefer had a reef tank with a 4 or more inch thick substrate, for more than 10 years???????????????????????:dontknow:

my tank has been up and running for 7 years with a 5 to 6 inch fine sand bed. Never had a crash and I've never vacumed or cleaned any sand inless I have to move a rock, last week moved sand and rocks away from the closed loop intake that was 6 inch high and put a 6 inch 2 inch pvc to stop the sand build up, no problems,
