So I sold my 75G tank sometime back in about 2010 and completely got out of reefing. I should have just stuck with my Current Solana and never got the 75G.

Now I got the reef bug again and thinking about jumping back in... this time I'm promising myself to keep it as simple AF. And probably just go with AIO - either IM or have John at AA build me a shallow tank.

I still have an ATI T5 fixture in my garage from when I had my planted tank. I can swap out the bulbs for a reef tank. But looks like everyone has moved on to LEDs. I need to bring myself up to speed about new gear. I'm still stuck in 2010.

Yup I came from a ati powermodule 10 48 and well the house I moved to is older and the circuit breaker sucks everytime we used the microwave and toaster oven I had to flip the switch thats why I went with leds. If u can support it I love t5s or even a hybrid setup

I went from LED's to t5's. What I really miss is the pop and shimmer that LED's give on corals. But know that I went t5's, that would be the only reason why i would go back the LED's.

I still have my Reefkeeper Lite after all of these years too, though Im not sure if the probes are still good. And I have an Eheim 2215 canister with an inline heater. Anyone use a canister as a media filter for their reef?

Canisters are kind of a pain to get primed and get into to change out the media, so we're generally using reactors for media instead. Though, if convenience is not an issue, a canister works just fine. I would just make sure to take out the sponges and run it empty with just the media bags to keep nitrates down.
