So I went full send the other day and rescaped the tank. Total time with clean up took 9 hours. Came out great definitely a lot better and accomplished the goal I had in mind. Big tunnels from front to back, no rocks touching the back glass. Open swim lane in the back of the tank. Plenty of swimming through the rock work. Took out about 100lbs of rock. Glad I did it it’s like looking at a new tank. A lot of corals broke trying to take them off the rock but hoping everything recovers and grows out again.

I like it! Feels more open. Hopefully, it has given the fish more room to swim. I'm sure they are loving the tunnels and channels to swim through. Lots of work, but it paid off.

Fish are stress free now! I like watching them swim through the tunnels and in the back of the tank which they never could before. The aggression has stopped. Pics don’t do it justice of all the open rock work tunnels. I did lose 1 purple queen Anthia during the process. I think he stuck himself inside one of the rocks I pulled out and most likely died in it. I feel bad for the female now all alone.

Haha that’s what I told my wife. “I just need a bigger tank” rather than rescape. She just gave me the evil eye stare. I do want a 9 foot long peninsula….
Do it!!!

My wife once gave me the evil eye and I built an entire grow farm outside in the backyard, then upgrade the 180gl with a 400gl. lol

I sooooooooo feel this!! ;)
I am contemplating a 12' x 3' x 2' tank, but the wife (the smart one) gets a twitchy eye every time i mention it ..
Now that is a massive tank with perfect dimensions. There’s a video on YouTube of a guys tank with those dimensions (I think) Peninsula style loaded with sps I’m like ya that’s what I need lol I brought the tape measure out starting measuring the location and she just nodded her head. I mean a man can dream and put it out there in the universe right? lol

That’s awesome. Sometimes we just gotta do it and eventually they come around. Once it’s done it’s done lol I’ve been in my house for 2 years now and went from a 100g to a 225g and you know it’s just going to keep going up from there lol there was a post on here someone selling a 7 foot long peninsula I’m like damn if was only 2 feet longer it would be in my garage waiting to get built right now.

I always forget I seem to be the minority of wives in the hobby….I’m all for a bigger tank lol
My wife doesn't have a problem with the bigger tank, she just saw how much I spent building the 1st one... ;) she was my accountant at the time...
Unfortunately, bigger DOES mean more $$$.

Obviously has to be custom the tank you want alone is probably 14k. Just pull out a personal loan for 20k and that will get you started lol
