Remember or think I do it only taking a day or so, maybe three?
I’m going to say going on five days. Did some research and the number is all over the place. A couple of days to week plus. Not water perams because everything else doing fine, even the other one I have though it’s in a cave due to one of my Blennies.
Can I get a local consensus?

This can happen to just one coral and one Toadstool? The other under a rock in a Blenny cave about the size of a large grape is open. Need dog food so can’t hurt to grab some carbon.
Think carbon sponge is good enough? Just watched a BRS video and they say putting it in filter sock doesn’t really work. I could put a sponge in my baffles and get good contact with more water.

What brs sponge? What does it do? The carbon has a specific purpose to target chemicals released from corals in this case. If the sponge is to catch the slime, socks should do that

Usually when a leather is shedding it's unhappy. I've read all over the net that leathers, particularly toadstools shed normally, but I believe it to be untrue. A happy thriving toadstool never sheds.

Like Jose said above add some carbon sounds like there is some warfare going on.

I’ve seen what seems to be carbon impregnated sponges. They can be stuffed in the baffles.
There is good flow towards it. My return is pointed that direction and it gets the deflection off the glass.
For fun yesterday after my posting, I decide to give it a rub down with my thumb as bad as that sounds. Apparently it liked it. looking good this morning.

In my opinion… I’ve been in the game for 12 years now and I have 7 toadstools currently… mine usually take a week or so to shed sometimes longer if they are not in the best water flow area of the tank… mine shed and then will grow… I use carbon for sure and swap out monthly… I usually take a feeding tube and try to blow some water over them to help shed quicker… everyone has different issues but help it along and get it some light and water flow… I keep mine separated around the tank…

Yeah. Interesting all the different results of time in my research before posting thread. Thought I’d bring home to the local site. Just received a couple more pumps yesterday to add flow. Forgot to check the carbon.
Opens and closes for lack of better terms on a daily/hourly basis.
