It’s been a hot minute but this year has been crazy with chemo treatments and just life in general. I finally pulled the trigger and got the 100g up two months ago, now fully cycled, and then ooops I did it again, with a 70g last week.

So, long story short, I have decommissioned the 32.5 AIO (if you know anyone who might like to get a used tank It’sa good starter and PM me!) officially as the transfers are so done. Today will be cleaning day for that one!

i have now the eshopps 100 & 70. With the 100 I have an ATO, skimmer, 2 Reef LEDs, heater and return (all good for now). The 70 just has the heater, Kessil Apx9, return, and ATO.

After aquascaping and cycling the 100 I moved all my LPS, my hybrid orange storm clowns and their Sherman nem.

For the 70 I used all the rock from the 32 plus some sump rock for that design. Used all the 32’s sand and water with more live sand and additional water.

Some of my CUC went in one and some in the other.
My emerald crab who killed my favorite diamond goby had been relegated to the sump for now!

i couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The 70 has all my softies and the remainder of my fish.

Looking to make the 100 a mixed reef while I think I’ll be making a nem and mushroom focused tank with the 70. I have beautiful green nem on hold bc the 70 needs to be leveled and you all know what that is going to entail!

photo dump coming….. most are the 100, including the “dragon rock” we added for a 3d dimensional look. Last pick is the 70.

Thank you. I’m excited to give my corals room to grow now. They were crowding each other when they were fully opened!

Yup, like a true reefer, you got the upgrade bug. Now you have 2 bigger tanks! Awesome.

Nice aquascaping skills. I know that is already 10x better than mine, LOL.

The tank will look amazing once the corals are settled in and grows into colonies.

Thanks, Jimbo! It actually wasn’t as much a bug to begin with as I wasn’t sure I wanted to start back up again with a big tank after memories still lingered of 35ish years ago and my experience then. So I decided to start small but I never really thought within a year I would have such a large amount of growth and “success” or that I’d be moving on up! Then once I got the 100 up, I couldn’t resist a free brand new 70! NOW I have the bug!

I’m always surprised at how time flies! It’s been a rough couple of months including Edison’s equipment exploding in my backyard (twice a month apart) and being shocked from the first one, my youngest moved out and I crashed my phyto and pod growing attempts. But in the larger picture, no chemo since June so I can’t really complain considering the alternatives!

Both tanks are doing great and the 100 in particular is growing. My euphyllia garden is expanding. I am waiting on a hammer to come on Friday when I get my maintenance done. It was gifted to me for Christmas by my LFS. I’m excited to see what it looks like. I’ve seen varying pictures so I’m not sure but it will be at the front of the “dragon” rock I’m pretty sure. I’ve only added a lawnmower blenny and little, bitty yellow goby to the 70, otherwise just been letting it settle in with the new protein skimmer.

I now have a bunch of cool fish and am going to try and grow pods again. This time I’ll do it in my little 10g that I had in my office before the 70. Definitely gonna need phyto for this one!! Here’s a link to a video from the other day. I didn’t get my psychedelic mandarin bc he was hiding but I think I got everyone else at least once.

Nice update. The tank looks to be filling in good with a nice LPS garden up top.

Finally Picasso and Matisse long enough to catch them playing hide and seek! And my nem moved off the bottom rock (finally) onto an arch tonight, though I don’t know how happy Po is about that. And finally, look who decided to grow zoa garden !
