I’ve had the Vlamingii for 2 years and it is the king of my tank. I think he just wants more space. I added a smaller tang recently and he is very intimidating when feeding to the juvenile tang (though different different genus). My current tank is 100g and he is about 5”. Super fat belly, very well fed. Eats nori, pellets, flakes, frozen. Very healthy fish. Would do well in reef tank or FOWLR. Beautiful blue spots and his tail has an interesting fade from white to blue to black.

Just caught him today. Chillin in my sump. Asking $150. No guesswork on getting him to eat and he’s lived through ich outbreaks in the past. Fun fish to watch swim.

They are some of the best natured fish around.

Eventually it will grow to 18” or even 2’.

I have one in my 225 and it’s almost a foot now. ... my last one was well over a foot when I killed most my fish about a year ago.

He was pretty chill before another tang was added, I think he got used to being the only tang. Would be different if he was the most recent addition or in a larger tank like yours with multiple tangs. Before I added the new tang he would swim up to my hand for food. Very cool fish

Both of mine have been very friendly fish, disposition like an old yellow Labrador. That said, at 225 gallon's, I think I'm pushing it.
