lets post our pics of RODI and water setups... this will give some of the other reefers out there something to think about when designing their systems...

if you can post the info about your RODI units as well. (GPD, 3-5stage, how many DI carts you use, and average readings...)

i will post pics of mine tonight as my camera battery is charging.

I don't have any pics, but I can describe my setup.

I use a level-loc ATO connected to my RO/DI to keep water topped off.

For water changes, I have 2 trash cans. One for RO/DI that's T'ed off the same RO/DI above with a float valve.

The second is where I mix it with salt.

I have both trash cans plumbed with valves and connected to a pump so I can use either as a source. This allows me to with 1 pump transfer ro water to the other trash can or saltwater to the tank.

I also have my main pump t'ed to a drain with a valve.

So to do a water change, I open the drain valve, empty the desired amount...

Turn on the other pump and refil with saltwater.

Only manual effort other than flipping valves is adding salt.

my small digicam took a crap!

anyway. i have two 44g rubbermaid tuff trashcans. they are stacked on top using a home built rack system. the top container is filler with RODI and is controlled via a float valve. I then drain it to the trashcan below to mix saltwater. then the top one fills. I always have 88g of water on hand and i can make 44g in 8hrs if needed.

I have a five stage system that i have expanded. I took the DI carts out of the five stage and added an additional carbon... so 1 sediment, 2 carbon, 1 membrane, 1 polisher. (carbon/silicate), then i bought a two canister add-on from filterguys. and have two DI carts in series.

the system works great. I will take pics tomorrow night when my camera arrives....!

Mines an old empty bucket of IO. aqua lifter pump, 1 float switch and a ELK 960 timer. I fill the bucket about every 3 days or so from my RO/DI under the kitchen sink
