Ok so yesterday i got new live rock thats 100% cured. And before that had xenia growing very well and was healthy. Now today i noticed my xenia is kinda having a hard time, and kinda looks like the tips are frayed, and they arent pulsing a lot. I decided to test my water and noticed big change since my peram. use to be near perfect, now it is.... by the way also did waterchange today so maybe im over stressing.....
ph- 8.0 (started adding ph buffer again to get to 8.3)
amonia- between 0 & .25
nitrite- 0
nitrate- 10
calcium- 440
and first time testing for alkalinity and having problems because i think its reading wrong, i dont think im at around 15 lol but maybe? and if any of you guys are using the salifert KH/ALK test do you wait for the whole vial to change color or just chill it barely changes colors when swished and changes back? Anyways if you know of any other less complicated tests let me know Thanks for reading and can hopefull help me out. thanks. -Layne

Seachem PH/alk test is what I use. Pretty easy. If your alk is at 15, I would expect to see your xenia stressing like that. Have you tested your water before you add it to the tank?
I was using the buffer and my alk kept rising.
Also, are you dosing anything?

Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- 0
Phos- 0

And no I didn't clean the liverock, it didn't smell that bad.
