Hello SCR! So recently just got my Waterbox frag 85.3 tank setup and going. Been looking into possibly transitioning to a fleece roller instead of these dam socks. I’m having trouble finding one that would fit inside the sock holder cutouts in the sump. Belie they’re I don’t think I can fit a unit into the middle compartment due to having other equipment stationed there.(heater, skimmer, hob algae scrubber). Anyone that has this tank/sumpgot any suggestions on smaller fleece filters that would fit? Attached a picture of the sump dimensions from Waterbox.

you're going to have to cut out sections of the sump or use the klir filter roller which doesn't have the best reviews

Probably have to get a custom sump or the easiest route is no socks or fleece filter. Less headache for you.

Ya this is what I was trying to avoid. Wanted to see if anyone has done it successfully with a certain model without having to cut or grind anything down.. :(

I would buy the new red sea sump section removal toolkit and just hack away. Personally I think sumps are a big scam. My ideal sump setup is just an open box with just 1 baffle for a return chamber.

Looking at the 85.3 sump, I would literally cut out the entire left side sock holder section and then put w.e roller I want.

Ya I hate these sock holders, maybe I could just remove the holder area and leave the baffle?
