What fish should I get

I have a tall 30 gallon tank. What fish should I get? I'm definitely thinking a Coral Beauty, maybe a Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish, and a Flame Angel. Any suggestions :conf44:

You can do either a Coral Beauty OR Flame Angel but not both as they will fight for territory. And if you decide to add a Maroon Clown, make sure you add him last as they get very aggressive and only a matter of time before it bites the hand that feeds it..LITERALLY..mine once drew blood, at that point I knew it was time for it to go.

Thanks I was thinking the flame angel and the coral beauty would not get along. Maybe I will just get the coral and the maroon clownfish or any other suggestions?

maroon clowns get mean as Cool Reefs said... The idea is to not put anything in your tank that you dont plan to keep forever. And when they get big... you wont want to keep it! lol

what about a different type of clown maybe?

the maroon clown can be aggressive in my experience. they will however host a rose anemone very well. are you thinking you want aggressive fish or peaceful fish? look online for some "Reef safe" fish if you want them to be tame and not stress eachother out. or just be mindful of what you pick. good luck what fun.

How about having a coral beauty, and a pair of true percula clowns. Or one coral B, one true perc, and some other fish.

Thanks for the info. So far I think I am going to stick with a coral beauty, and a pair of true percs. I will pass on that candy basslet. Unless someone can think of a better combination of fish.

i think the coral beauty will quickly outgrow the 30gallon tank. But that is just my opinion. I think the only angels you could keep in a tank at or below 30g would be the c. argi, c. acanthops, and c. flavicauda. Most others will get too big/ not be able to find enough food to eat. There are plenty of other fish you could get for it, the percs are nice, all kinds of wrasses (pink striped, 6 line) there are tons of basslets (swissguard), gobies, psuedochromis. Lots of stuff to choose from for sure.
