not any that i've been to, even if they claim to

i think jose mentioned age of aquariums in LB has a QT system

idk if i'd really trust a normal fish store to legit qt fish on a large scale, just so much more going on and fish qt is hard enough as is

there are a bunch of places online to get qted fish if u want, paying shipping sucks, but it is what it is

tsm is great, just fyi one of their owners died last month and their website is down so idk how stocked they'll be soon. they did say they were going to try to change things up and stop taking pre-orders for stuff as it got hard to manage. so moving to more of a diver's den sort of thing. i think they're aiming to have the site back up stocked with fish next month

i've also used fishotel and premier reefs and they're both great, but smaller with less wholesale contacts

ocean devotion is in LA, but i haven't really used them

Dr reefs QT fish has really competitive prices why not use them?

thanks for all the great info!
well tbh i did use him once and was happy, i still have both fish i got from him

i'd say he has taken on way too much and the quality suffered a lot. people get the wrong fish from him, not healthy fish, etc. seemed like a lot of reports of that sort of thing. i think he moves more fish than all of the other vendors combined despite being a one man operation. he got the boot from humblefish's forum so maybe it's for the best he's just on r2r now

i have no beef with him, but i'd observation qt stuff from him assuming he even gets you the right stuff

I agree with what matty said. I used dr reefs several months back and when my order arrived a couple fish were missing and when I reordered to get some of the missing fish, I ended up getting the wrong fish. He did his best to make things right but I did end up with a percula and ocellaris mated pair, I call them the odd couple. After a month of squabbling, they get along great. On the bright side, everything I ordered from him is healthy.

I'm currently in the process of acquiring a few fish from oceandevotion so we'll see how that goes

I like Dr. Reef's, although I see how he is a bit overburdened. Think he's adding staff. Anyway, I'm much happier with my inverts from him than the ones I got from ReefCleaners. All Dr. Reef's alive and well. The high fin goby on the other hand... Looked super healthy, but went under the big rock and haven't seen it for 3 months. Who knows. The pistol I got from Dr. Reef was TINY! Thought it was dead. Lo and behold, it is kicking up sand from under the big rock and looks to be quite a bit larger whenever I momentarily see it!

All to say, quality of livestock from Dr. Reef seems top notch if you get the right order :) Think it helps to get on the phone with him.

About to finish another round of qt'd fish and all i can add to this thread is that after doing my own qt, i have a new found respect for people that do it the right way. Whether for business or for their own personal collection. Qt is no joke. Its stressful and expensive (tank, equipment, the fish itself) and then not all fish do well in qt so that's an added expense to factor in. After this round, i am pretty sure that i am done with adding fish which is great because i am definitely done with the headache of qt-ing.

LOL 100%.

I qt'd myself. And hell yeah, new found respect for what those guys do. If I sold QT fishes, I wouldn't do it for any less then what these guys charge. And if you do find someone that will, I'd be skeptical of their practices.

I gotta say tho as a hobbyist if you have the room to setup a temp qt tank, it's definitely something new to experience. The amount of knowledge you gain, nothing beats hands on experience. And that healthy fish you add to your display brings a new level of pride and joy when you put in the time yourself.

I should really sell those fish I have. Heaters are expensive to run right now.

+1 for DrReefs. Was really looking forward to someone sharing a store in SoCal that did it too. A bit disappointed there's nothing local. I think whoever does this may be able to make a good chunk of change!
