I've got a group of purple death zoanthids that I don't want. They aren't on a fragable section so I need to kill them off. I tried hitting them with aiptasia x with the flow off but that just pissed them off for a week and they are back to growing again. I feel like I've heard of people using putty to cover them up and wanted to double check before I cover them up in waterweld.

Thanks for any input.

Photoshop then Amanda sell them for $100 pp lol.
Seriously though, Try giving them away. Sometimes your live fish store will take them

If there aren't any other zoas you want to leave alone in the tank, you can try sundial snails. I haven't ever used but I've read they work. I think Rakie posted about them when he was more active.hth

Yeah they are on a rock I can’t remove now otherwise I’d post them up.

I’ve got a small thing of utter chaos I’d like to keep but if it comes down to it I’ll check that out, thanks!

Maybe try the Lye instead? Then immediately cover them with a huge glob of water weld.

You can't remove the rock, chip them off, then return the rock back?

Not without some risk, its a piece from the 180 that already has some encrusted sps on it. Whats Lye?

How many do you have? I have a ton of zoas in my system also. I have been getting tweezers and ripping them off. You can also try aiptasia wand and zap them everyday until they are gone. You just have to stay on top of it.

Sodium Hydroxide. Jake Adams recently recommended it to our club during a talk for removal of pest nems etc.
Cool, I'll look into it. I've got an aiptasia problem brewing. My leopards keep killing my peppermint shrimps and I think they ate my berghia too.

Not the same. This is what I’ve done. Thin paste that will work with syringe sticking them individually. Can’t do a whole bunch at one time. Change water perams. Heard of people using lemon juice and syringe.
Lemon juice will also change beater chemistry. You could don2-3 syringes a day. Just test.

Be careful with it, it’s quite caustic and will cause chemical burns on you and can blind you if you get it in your eye.

In the aquarium it kills most anything it touches. Even if by accident. Then it turns into water and salt. It’s quite safe for anything it doesn’t touch.

I found the kalkwasser jabbing worked really well. For not knowing what I was really doing I didn’t do any harm to anything else.
