I think I am going to purchase some totoka fiji live rock. What kind of rocks did you buy, and how do you like them?

Actually its not the type of rock, for me its how the rock looks, you got to have a very good imagination, fillar, cone, tabling flat or odd shape

I'm a big fan of Pukani Live rock, they are lightweight, super porous, easy to stack and they have some nice crevices where frag plugs can easily be attached.

I agreed with coral diver on this one. It doesn't matter what kind of rocks...as long as it looks good for aquascaping and pest free, then I would consider it a good rocks. :hello:

different live rock gives different effects.

my favorite live rock by preference is:

1) marshall island - import stopped, very expensive but the rock structure is incomparable.
2) tonga - big beautiful branches that creates wonderful open structures. again, shipments have ceased and very hard to obtain except reefers selling their old stock.
3) pukani - small tight lace pattern. very striking intricate appearance. is/was possible to get very large pieces.
4) fiji - good ol' standard live rock. heavier and denser than the others listed above.
5) kaelini - similar to fiji but shapes are more unique. i have never really found large pieces of kaelini thus making it lower on my list.

live rock, good live rock anyway, seems to be getting harder and harder to find. other places have shipped live rock each with their own unique appearance. vanuatu, solomon, bali, alor etc are all great variations of quality live rock.
