I’ve ran just about all the major led fixtures and I have it narrowed down to 2.

I’m between the A500x and the Hydra 64

I really like that kessil shimmer but I’ve had the best results with AI.

Honestly the thing holding me back from the A500x is that it’s new and all but 2 of my kessil lamps have given me issues. Yes Kessil will back their products and they have excellent customer service but it’s still frustrating to deal with. Oh yeah, the A500x isn’t wifi ready out of the box, so that’s a con.

I think between the two, a500 vs the hydra 64HDs the differences would depend on what you keep and the height of which you plan to mount stuff.

Hydras are great for spread, especially with the diffusers. But for my mixed reef that didn’t work for my Goni’s and acans cause they got too much light. I actually switched to a360’s with reef brites. Seems to work better for me so I can direct more power to the the SPS in my tank and the rest of the corals get low enough PAR to get real puffy.

It's a no brainer really.

Do you want to spend big bucks for shimmer OR

Spend big bucks on something that has worked well for you in previous "Dream Tank", proven to growth factor (Newe70), with all the smart feature your fishes and curls could want..

Throwing a wrench into your dilemma.

400w Radium 20k baby. Hahaha

x2!

Well actually I really like the 14k :)

I always like to have a larger footprint light so I'd vote hydras even though I'd really like to see how the a500 would perform for ya
