When to add sps

Hi I’m new here I was wondering what signs to look for before adding SPS to a 4 1/2 month system I would love to learn before I do anything.

I have coralline algae and started dosing all for reef I just never attempted SPS,

Get some cheap tester SPS and see how they do. If they die, then your tank is not ready and you're not out a bunch of money. Bird's best or digis are super cheap, like $20/frag or less. Heck, I'd bet you can find some generous local reefers who would give away some of these.
