Picked up two clownfish for a new 14 gal IM peninsula this weekend.
LFS label as wild Percula but looks like regular captive bred Ocellaris to me. what do you guys think?
The smaller picky eater is a little aggressive toward the chubby one. How long does it take for them to pair up?
Currently in QT and show no sign of disease yet. swim act calmly and play dead when no one is around lol

i remember vaguely u can count the top dorsal fin with 9 spines being perc and some less spines being occ. as for it being wild that’ll be hard to tell..,maybe see if it pairs with a nem right away? Captive bred for me rarely pair with nems right away and can take a few weeks to months

they’re definitely ocellaris clowns.it’s not ideal to get them at the same size for pairing. It can take months to pair because one has to become female and get larger then the other. Usually try to get two diff sizes to start with. They’ll be fine, but it will just take a few months. it’s

Percula will have 10 (sometimes 9) dorsal spines, whereas ocellaris will have 11 (rare, sometimes 10). Eyes and black margins around the white are usually the big indicators for percula.
