Phelan motorcyclist thrown from bike, dies
By Joe Smilor on December 14, 2008 5:45 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) | ShareThis
A 45-year-old Phelan man died Friday after a motorcycle he was riding veered off of northbound Sheep Creek Road, and he was ejected.

Authorities found Bruce Scott Webster unresponsive on the dirt shoulder, next to his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle, on Sheep Creek Road, in Phelan, shortly after 8 p.m.

The location was about seven feet north of Hill Top Road.

Webster suffered blunt force trauma across his entire body, causing fatal injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Webster was taken to Desert Valley Hospital, in Victorville, where he was pronounced dead at 11:33 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department.

I also live in phelan and was driving home at around 10 and came up around the corner of sheep creek right there off 138 and saw them putting the motorcycle on a trailer. I never would have guessed it was Bruce. This is terrible news. I feel terrible for his family. I will pray for them all.

I spoke with Bruce's Wife today and the tentative service arrangement, will still remain small and private. However services will be handled by the Navy. In lieu of this, services may be in 2 to 3 weeks.

At Friday's meeting I will be looking for volunteers for shutting down and the relocation of Bruce's reef inhabitants. I will ask Colin to get a list of fish as he is the one to be doing immediate support until a date for shut down is decided (break in the weather and temps). It is the families wish that the fish go to good homes or possibly the school. All other items may be auctioned or sold not sure at this point.
