Looking for some Bali Picassos. I used to get them back in 2014-15 from a guy who imported them and shipped from FL. Got back into the hobby last year and have had a hard time tracking some down.

if anyone has any Bali p1 or black picasso, or their offspring, please lmk. Looking for any size. Thank you!

The nicest clownfish not even close imo. All these tank raised ones in US have cool patterns but their shape is generally awful. So many pinched heads/long bodies/small tails etcz look at a wild caught true perc and study that round head/body shape...then look at most of these captive bred varieties 🤢

Bali Aquarich are the only ones who maintained excellent shape along with the markings imo. Mariculture might be the difference 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I’ve seen them on DD from time to time but it they’re always a bit underwhelming... Like that pair - they’re almost 3”, being Bali “Black” Picassos, they’re almost adult size they should have much more black by that age. Although I guess they’re listing them as p3 so not being advertised as top quality.. May have to settle for something like that eventually if I can’t find some true p1’s.

Bringing this thread back! I am on the hunt for True Bali Picasso(s) or Onyx.

What’s the scoop, why are they do difficult to find? Can someone educate me, lol?

I feel like I’ve gone through pages of US breeders to never find what I am looking for. Any breeders lurking and want to sell brood stock?

100% seems to be the case .... more or less who I (and I think most) are referring to when they say "Bali Picasso". I can't seem to find anyone that imports from BA. I know they come with a price but I think its worth it.

Guess I will just keep scouring Live Aquaria DD for a pair I like to pop up.

Even the pairs ive seen pop up on LA from time to time dont hold a candle to the ones BA was exporting 5-6 years ago. I'm not sure what the issue is but i cant find anyone importing from them except for other breeding projects for other non-clown species.

This was my breeding pair i sold in '16. Miss these fish so much! Never seen any like them to this day

I agree I used to have a pair of the BA clown. BA know how to breed them, the clown look amazing. Not sure why they stop importing them in.

I've got a line on some BA Black Helmet and Standard Helmet Picassos. These are sub 2" "newly" imported, not bonded pairs is what I am getting at.

I am going to pick one up, if anybody else is interested we can save on shipping.

My fish ship tomorrow for Tuesday delivery. If anyone wants on the order I can probably get that handled today, save $50 shipping.

*Note I was directed to this vendor by Bali Aquarich / Mr. Su after reaching out directly for a US source. While BA still regularly produces clowns it appears market focus has shifted to angelfish and therefore not a ton of clowns are being brought in.

You could try asking biota, BA is where they get a lot of their stuff. Idk if they’d do wysiwg tho
To late now, lol. I honestly would have tried that first although being able to pick what I want was nice. While I’m fairly confident these are from Bali Aquarich, I don’t know that they are what they used to be. Kind of like the pairs that you see on divers den from time to time. I’ll post pics when I get them.
