I’m setting up a species-only tank, mostly Haddonis and some RBAs. Where do you recommend to buy some clownfish? I can’t really have other fish since they might get eaten!

Thanks

Carful with carpet Nems, they will eat clowns too. Seen it first hand. Why I’ve been scared to throw a pair in this basket lol.
True and that’s why I’m super cautious and not put any prized fish there. Will see — it’s my first nem-only tank so will be interesting.

I look foward to seeing some pics of this. My lady wants clowns but I dont like keeping them without nems for them to live in. It just doesn't feel right. I've had them nest in/on gsp and even some leathers and xenia but It still just seems wrong to not give them the proper home they need to thrive.

Carpet nems will arrive tomorrow actually. I have 2 clownfish already but need a lot more…definitely will share some pics once settled in.

I’ve heard that clownfish can mate with softies and some won’t even host nems, ymmv. If you don’t want them, I’ll buy them from you. 😁

This time around I haven't bought any. In my previous reef I had a pair of maroons that would attack you if you put your hand in the tank. Those suckers would draw blood no joke. They got sold, then I had a friend who was shutting down his tank and gave me a pair of percula clowns that hosted in my soft corals just fine. Those guys were great. I do plan on turning one of my FW planted tanks into a nem tank though once my reef gets a little farther along....one tank at a time.

I will never have Maroon/Tomato Clowns — yes, very territorial and will annoy the crap out of ya! lol

I currently have a pair of these guys — very cute but might become an expensive dinner!
