WTB: Nano Tank Stand

Placed an order for an IM25 Lagoon tank and looking to procure a tank stand to go with it. Ideally looking for a 24"x20"x30" tank stand, but am flexible on stand dimensions.

I was thinking about going with and IKEA cabinet stand, retrofitting with reinforced plywood, L-brackets. Along with applying polyurethane on the wood. However, not sure I want to deal with MDF and the stand failing catastrophically and unpredictably if/when the wood starts to swell.

Not opposed to used or new stands. If anyone has pointers to shops that sell fairly priced stands that would help too.

I got a husky toolbox for my IM 25EXT, if you have an AIO it'll fit perfectly and you'll have tons of storage. Was cheaper than any aquarium stand that could withstand the weight, been probs 6 months, no rust yet.

You lose the function of it opening and closing but I love it

Plan is to upgrade the 16G biocube to the IM25 lagoon. Shooting for a softie and macro tank, maybe even a clam. I'm hoping to bring over most of the existing equipment, right now I have a DFC light on the tank.

Yeah, initially was looking at the ikea cabinets, a lot of they them aren't rated for +300lbs. They'd probably need to be reinforced and coated with polyurethane. And I'm concerned over the longevity of the cabinets, the particle board could soak up water over time and fail without warning. I'd sleep better at night not worrying about a cabinet failing.

Maybe others have had long term success with ikea furniture as tank stands?

I just built a stand for my 25ext out of 1x3 and skinned it with walnut plywood. Not too labor intensive.

Can't be that hard. A couple saws and drills. Bada bing bada boom.

And then build one for me too.

John, how many tanks do you have? LOL.

Too many right now, but hopefully consolidating a couple. I'm trying to get back to just my main tank and the nano system and a couple QT/holding tanks for corals and clams. But, you know, shit happens.
@joeoliver keep an eye on FB marketplace, there's always some stands popping up, but I'll check around. Btw, I just used a miter saw for the frame and a saw guide with a handheld circular saw for the plywood. Forstner bit for the countersink holes to epoxy the neodymium magnets in, that's it. Also, look around for some 8020, you can do a lot with that stuff.

Miguel, I got a miter saw you can borrow if you want to try to build the stand.

Sometimes, I have the HD guy cut a lot of my lumber, so that will work too.

I found a new stand that fits the bill, perfect dimensions, 24x20x30. And real raw wood so I could stain it myself. However, it's located West Covina and already assembled.

Unfortunately, it won't fit in my sedan. I'll have to figure out a way to transport the dang stand. If anyone here is interested, I could offer cash, lunch, or corals for helping move the stand lol
