I doubt anyone on this forum has one for sale but am gonna give it a try anyway. Does anyone have a "red sea" regal angel or has anyone seen one for sale at any lfs lately? The smaller the better of course, but not picky. Have my quarantine tank ready to go for it. Lmk through pm please. thanks.

called Ali, and the one he has is only for "show" in his display tank. The search continues.

Good luck trying to find a Red Sea Regal. I've never seen one for sale at a fish store. All of the ones I've ever seen were gray belly Indonesian ones.

I think its difficult to export from the Red Sea which is the reason why were not seeing fish come from that area. Hopefully someone knows more about this

That's the funny thing Ramzy..I have seen them on several occassions. Last time was about a month ago at Bird Bell Farm but it was breathing heavy and wasn't eating. It died 2 days later. I also saw one at another lfs (can't remember which one) but it was about 6" and didn't look healthy at all. Someone bought it and I later found out it died a week later. So I know they are out there, just a matter of finding one. NOw I have a qt tank, I'm ready for any specimen that looks somewhat healthy so I can give it the old college try at being able to successfully keep one long term.

That sucks that they were unhealthy especially for such a sweet fish. But the Red Sea one is supposed to be much hardier. The Indo one has a low survival rate from what I read.

How much were they trying to sell the fish btw?

Yeah, I have seen quite a few Indo (grey belly) regals lately but I am still in search of the illusive "Red Sea" yellow belly regal. I use quotations because from the extensive research I have done, there are NONE coming directly from the red sea. All yellow belly regals right now are coming from sumatra and other parts of the indian ocean.

The one I saw at Bird Bell Farm was $60 and the one at the other lfs was $149 IIRC. Crazy how much they vary. I put the word out there so hoping either AOA or Ali or Seaside can come through and find one for me.
